How many White Cloud minnows for a 20g tank?

I found that my LFS has baby/juvinile White Cloud Mountain minnows available for a good price. I have a 20 gallon tank and I was wondering what size school I might be able to add and not worry about overpopulating when they grow to full size. The only fish I have in the tank are three Otocinclus catfish. These and the WCMM would be the only fish in this aquarium.

The minnows are about 1/2" long. I don't know exactly how old that would make them.

Also, what would be the best food for such small fish? I read that crushed flakes would be okay, but I'd love to hear other suggestions.

1/2" white clouds are probably around 2 months of age. They grow to roughly 1.5". There's not much to them, keep them in unheated tanks ideally, and they will eat flake, frozen, almost anything you put in the tank. If just keeping white clouds and otos, I'd say a dozen to 20 fish. They're pretty active and will likely spawn in your tank. In my experience, the adults don't seem to eat the fry. Which makes no sense considering how tiny the fry start out. Perhaps they do and I've just never noticed it but they certainly seem to prefer flake food and will eat it alongside the tiny babies. And the fry are beautiful! They develop a neon green stripe at just a couple of days of age that fades to gold with maturity.

Thank you for the info. I couldn't wait any longer and I picked up a dozen of them. They really are great looking fish at this size and the neon stripe is clearly visible. A few seem to be gold colored, so maybe there's a mix of regular & golden. I don't believe there are any long-fins, but having never had these fish, I don't know that I'd be able to tell at this size. I prefer the short fins, anyway.

Thanks again.
