Hi All,

I have a planted HOB:

and am seriously thinking about replacing all that h.japan in the top part with a Dragon's tongue. Do you think if I rinse all the soil off the roots and 'plant' it in the top sponge (leaves emerged, roots submerged in a gentle flow) it would have a shot at growing? Or dissolve into a mushy, tank fouling mess?

This is the stuff:

Thanks!

I'm one of those people ^^
As for the plant in question, from a quick googling it appears common care (when kept in gardens) calls for daily or several times a week watering. I see no "must have well drained soil" or anything to hint that its roots would do poorly when constantly wet and leaves emsersed, so I think it would have a good chance of survival. Rinse roots gently but thoroughly and have at it! I think it will be a fun new splash of color for your HOB ^^ Be sure to post photos when you do it!
