Zebra danios and black neon jumpers?

I bought five of each of these and within a week I was down to three black neons and zero zebra Danios. I check my tank multiple times throughout the day and not once did I ever see a dead body. I only have two fish in my tank that I could even hurt them and that's an angel fish which is not very big and A smaller pictus cat. But I'm sure my plecos did a good job of cleaning them up but like I said I check my tank multiple times a day and I never saw a body. Could they have possibly jump

Let me tell you a story.
Once upon a time there was a fishkeeper, she loved her little tank! She was so proud of her little 1.5 gallon. She cleaned it every week, doing water changes by the sink. One day she carried her full 1.5 aquarium into the bathroom like she always did and started the gravel vaccuum, siphoning into the sink.
She keeps her eye on the end of it to make sure she doesn't suck up a fish. SPLASH! "What on earth was that?"
She looks around trying to find the source of the sound, SPLASH!
This time she looks and as she is siphoning she sees the end of a Zebra danio tail headed down the drain!
OH NO! She stops the siphon and then mid air she sees a third fish and before she can stop it WHOOP! down the drain. She lost 3 fish in 1 15 minute water change

Moral of the story, YES, they jump. :)

Yes, they can jump. Especially the danios... Those guys jump like torpedos. Seal up every single hole you can find.
How large is the pictus cat? Catfish are gobblers. If it's over 3", it could be a suspect. I don't suggest keeping the cat in there any longer... It'll grow and be dangerous if it isn't already too large.
What size tank is it?
What else do you have?

Well I have lids but they have been off recently cause I recently got an eheim and I'm not completely done with the setup. So that's probably a big reason and I would say my pictus is right at 3". I also have 5 red skirt minor tetras, 1 angel, 4 corys, 2 kuhli loaches (one of I haven't seen in a few days but they are good hiders). 2 plecos, 1 clown loach.

Please re-home the clown loach. They get rather large and need a school, and there's no room for that in a 55g.
The pictus could be an issue, keep an eye on it.
I'd suggest you add a few more of everything other than the pictus and angel. You have schooling fish without proper schools. Don't add any other species, though.

The clown is staying for a while cause a bigger tank is in the near future

And yes I know I need more of all my fish it's just a slow process of getting them all. I get a few hear and there. Final stocking will be:

10x red skirt minor
10x black neon
5-10 Cory
5-10 kuhli loach
2x pleco
1x angel

And possibly another school of tetra or some other center piece fish like a gourami or something

So the other day I bought four more black neons. A few days later 1 of my 5 red skirt minor tetras and four black neons. I just don't get it they are just disappearing over night and there's never a body to be found. Like bones and all. My pictus is still small I really thing he would have trouble getting them in his mouth. My lids are on so I know their not jumping out. Are my plecos pictus and corys cleaning them up that fast?

Can you get a picture of the pictus compared to the fish in question?
Check the lids for gaps. Even tiny gaps can let things out.
Or you could just have a really efficient cleaning crew... but if that's the case, you need to figure out why they're dying.

Ok, he definitely didn't eat the red skirt minors. He'd probably get really fat if he ate a fish, noticeably so, and I doubt he's your culprit.
What does the rest of the tank look like? Is it likely that you lost fish and didn't see them.

And start testing water. Something is killing those fish. If it was all one species, I'd think it was a bad batch, but if they're different... you have a problem.

So that's what the tank looks like for the most part except some of the plants are changed but the driftwood and all tht is the same. Like I said I lost five zebras danios and now almost 6 black neons and one red skirt. The water I just got tested recently at a LFS and they said it all seemed good. Plus a lot of my fish have been in there for a long time and they haven't died. I just don't know what's going on. So the pictus I can keep for a while? And like I said no bodies to ever be found and it's pretty easy to see a lot of the tank.. Idk if my plecos could be doing it? My angel is way to small. It all just seems odd

So I now I have lost all my black neons and are down to only three of my red skirts. And yet not one body to be found. Someone has got to be killing them. So it's time to make a decision.
1. Buy bigger tropical fish That are good with plants
Or
2. Start getting rid of possible culprits like my pictus cat and see if I stop losing my smaller fish

I don't mind doing neither. I really like my pictus and don't wanna have to get rid of him. Maybe what are some possible bigger active fish that are good with plants

How long has this tank been up and running and how long after set up did you add your first fish?

I would suggest that you get the API master fresh water test kit and begin testing your water yourself. Don't leave it to the fish store who wants to sell you more fish.

I almost never test my water in established tanks but if I had multiple losses as you've had, I'd be testing everything.

I've had the tank setup for over two years now. I've had a bad stocking set up for a long time (wrong fish together) and have gotten rid of a lot of them and starting stocking the right ones. So basically kept all my bottom feeders and got rid of almost all my mid swimmers. All the fish I have added have been schools of small fish like the black neons and red skirts and unfortunately a lot of them have died especially the black neons which are smaller fish. All the fish that have been in there before like the bottoms feeders are still alive and well. Also like I said previously I haven't seen any of the bodies which in conclusion makes me believe someone is eating them. If it's only the new smaller fish dying with no traces of bodies in the tank then something has to be eating it. Simple as that. I have lids so they are not jumping. I don't know what else it would be Ya know

I don't know if the catfish could eat the redfins. I don't think so. Perhaps temporarily remove it and try to add more small ones?
He'd probably get fat if he ate one or two fish. Have you seen him temporarily fat?

I mean their has been a few times where I've seen him kinda fat but nothing crazy. I think I'm gonna stick with a school of the red skirts. Why are some bigger fish that go good with plants and the other fish in my tank. Maybe some gouramis or Denison barbs? I already have one angel. Maybe a lot of gouramis and a pair of denisons. Idk what are some fish you guys like?
