I don’t know about these particular tanks but I know any time in life I decided to compromise on what I really wanted to save money, I always ended up regretting it. I say if it doesn’t break your budget, get the tank you prefer.

 

I don't have any experience with ADA tanks, but I have a Waterbox Clear Mini 6 and I have really liked it. The closest tank to ADA that I can compare it to would be a UNS 3n, and I prefer the waterbox. The silicone is well done and the glass is extremely clear. I've had more experience with their saltwater setups, and their quality has always been good. I just ordered the clear mini 30 from them, so I can comment on the larger sizes mine gets here, but I expect the quality to be the same.

 

I own the waterbox mini clear 30. I also own a dooa h23 (which is made by ada, but is their 'we are trying weird things brand'). Both tanks are nice and if standing further then 2 feet away you really can't tell the difference in quality of the silicone. BUT the dooa tank definitely has superior craftsmanship with the silicone lines. I have to get super nit picky to even come up with any differences, but it is there.

If it were me, I wouldn't hesitate to get the waterbox if they make a tank size you are happy with because the differences are that slight. But if you are the type of person that is bothered by not having the best of something, then just go with the ada.

 

Does anyone have experience with a Waterbox mini 16 vs an ADA 60p?

I have 2 of the Waterbox 16. One Waterbox clear mini 6 and a Waterbox 20 cube aio.

 

Just set up the clear 30 (60 cm). It has been great!

ADA's glass quality is visibly superior in every way. Silicone work as well. But. Waterbox glass and silicone work is great as far as rimless tanks available on the market today go.

If it were me and I had the extra hundred bucks to spend, I'd probably get the ADA. If I wanted to save money, I wouldn't hesitate to go with Waterbox. Wouldn't regret either purchase and would never feel like I'd cheated myself. For a tank that size (not exactly large), saving $100 kinda makes good financial sense.

I have a local store that sells waterboxes and they are nice but I have never seen an ada in person so it leaves me imagining what I am missing out on.

I am very cheap so I have been losing sleep over the 100 dollars but I am leaning towards getting the ADA tank since I will have it for a while and it seems like a really fun tank to scape. Once I get my feet wet again (pardon the pun 😬) I am thinking this will be my living room display and I will set up the 120p knock off in my basement so getting the ada will be worthwhile.

That being said don't be surprised seeing a tank journal pop up from me with a waterbox....

Welp ended up buying the waterbox just now....

100 dollars is 100 dollars. I have a radion xr15 but I'm not sure it will work on a tank of this size so the difference between the ada and the waterbox almost pays for a twinstar...

 

I have the WB clear mini 16 ( 60P) never set it up then I bought the WB 2420 with stand I have had many tanks over the years all reef tanks but the WB are deff. nice tanks I think you will be happy with it.
