So i am looking for a suggestion for a large standing terrestrial plant that can live in lower light in my apartment, the only light is ambient room light and the lamps that are set up in the room, I am looking for something that will stand about 3' tall...

[Lighting is] slim to none? Ambient room lighting I guess. I put it by a window, but the curtain is closed and the shade is pulled down all the time.
May I suggest a plastic ficus?

I don't think the Jade tree will grow to that nice compact large size with slim to no light. Looks like you have it sitting outside. :) It's extremely resilient though, it will just basically sit there and growl.

Lack of light is really the main issue with indoor plants. There are some with very little requirements, like Pothos or Spider plant. Others will remain looking alright for extended times, like Dracaenas and such.

However, for the majority of plants, light is a requirement for growth just like for our aquatic friends. And inside houses often there just isn't enough of it.

Mine comes inside in October and goes out in April. Wasserpest is right in that it doesnt grow alot over the winter. In summer it makes up for it. It certianly doesnt die or drop its leaves over winter, and indoors year round is certainly not optimal conditions for it.
