We got three about a month go from Shrimpy Business. They are super adorable and yes they can very good climber and one did managed to get out even though we usually keep a lid on - don't know how. Sad news though is that they were doing great or at least so we thought ... but they have been dying SNIFFLES. One died about 5 days ago suddenly we thought it was one-off or molting related... then another died few days later..... and today the last one is looking very lethargic... everything else in the tank is doing fine we have crystal shrimps and khuli loaches too. I emailed Shrimpy Business. Hoping they can tell me what might be wrong :(

I even adding a sandy substrate to a portion of the tank because I know they like to burrow during molting when we first got them.

For now, I have put the last surviving little guy in a breeder box. I'm hoping he is just molting and maybe if left un-disturbed that will help him 🙏🙏🙏

If anyone can provide any helpful insights please....

pom pom crabs probs werent killing each other cuz they are nice. idrk about advice but thats rlly sad. my cousin had some fiddler crabs and one died cuz they were fighting over something (probs the female or some space). they were pretty cute when they climbed on the floaters. we had to take out shredded bits of crab that the snails had started working on:(

Did you figure out how to keep them alive? I bought 4, also from Shrimpy business. One was dead on arrival, 2 died after a few hours in the tank and one looks good now but I’m really worried. I did a super careful acclimation process with constant parameter monitoring, but 2 still died quickly after being put in the tank.

Unfortunately not. I actually reached out to Shrimpy and shared my water params with Nick and all seems to be within acceptable range in terms of ph, GH & KH. We suspect that it was due to overfeeding which in term caused an ammonia spike. Before the died off, I had gotten them new food and we have a lot of snails so I was worried they weren’t getting to the food think I went too trigger happy with the feeding. Good luck!
