Right now I've got some "reptile" wood from PetSmart in my tank and it's been in there for 4 weeks or so and it's still producing globs of white fungus left and right. I'm going to be swapping it out for a piece of Spiderwood and I was curious if Spiderwood will fungus like that as well?

What I've read says it does. Apparently how much fungus grows, and for how long, is a factor of how long it's been since the wood was harvested, and whether it's been pre-soaked. The fungus is due to sap and other organic materials leaching out of the wood.

Maybe someone else can comment specifically on spider wood, but my understanding is that it's not immune to fungus.
