Boraras urophthalmoides with shrimp?

Has anyone kept Boraras urophthalmoides (exclamation mark rasboras) in their shrimp tanks? They are very tiny... and i would think they would be shrimplet safe but just want to double check.

I just put some 9-10 crs/cbs in 5g tank and was debating adding a few of the wee fish or just leaving it as a shrimp only tank.

They can and will eat your shrimp. Even if they appear to be "safe" in your tank.

The general rule, Otocinclus aside: if it can fit in it's mouth, it's a meal.

I keep all kinds of Boraras and they all hunt and eat young shrimp.

Thanks for the heads up. Ill keep them out of the fancy shrimp tanks then.

I would be amazed if they could for it in there pin head size mouth but better safe then sorry until the shrimps re populate

Sometimes with the small fish, they may not be able to eat a whole shrimp, but they can definitely nibble off limbs, eyes, feelers and such. Plus they can definitely gobble up babies, as this is their perfect food in nature. Some ppl talk about having shrimp and fish together and it is possible, but not ideal. You need to have a lot of cover for the shrimp, and then they rarely come out as they are scared all the time hiding. So not ideal situation for the shrimp.

I double duty a CPD fry tank with Pumpkin shrimp that seems to be working well.. so its defiantly do-able
