Got a tank essentially given to me this last weekend.
those aren't scratches, just dirt.
It appears to be large.
Sadly it didn't come with a stand. Home depot was able to save the day, tho;
Home depot also provided a few 50 lb bags of playground sand
Sadly I did not wash it, and got bored, so cranked up the hose... this resulted in some dust.
Also... lifting a 125 gallon by yourself is tough... I'd recommend not doing it. Perhaps find someone to help... I was impatient, but luckily didn't have sweaty hands, so there was no dropping involved
. I added some floss to this canister designed for "100 gallon" tanks... only been in for about an hour, but the water seems to be clearing up slowly.
And there's also the huge UV sterilizer in the corner
Altho a tank this size would make for a gorgeous planted setup, I'm going to keep this low tech and cheap. Java moss, java fern, that's it. I was pondering adding one or two cichlids and using the other tank as food, but, who knows. I put a paradise gourami in there while it cycles and it seems awfully pleased with the swimming space
I'd like to let it grow in a bit (which will take a long time with java moss & java fern...), but idunno... I'm pretty impatient. We'll see.
* there are three layers of wood on the metal stand, so it's not just the one thin layer that you see. Lots of malaysian trumpet snail hitchhikers came with the new pieces of wood, too.
[edit] I've also got cool water ripple lighting effects, as tho I were using metal halides.
