i just returned from petsmart with a bag of zoomed hydro balls. its an expanded clay substrate. i got a 2.5lb bag for $9.99 it's about 2/3 the volume you get in a bag of fluorite so it's light. it's dark in color like aquasoil. anyone ever use it?
