Do I need to medicate with something?
This zebra Oto has a white 'hole' behind it's left eye. This photo is not perfect, but the spot is whiter than the white areas on the body. It's in a 10g planted QT with CPD's and shrimp purchased from the same place. Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 1-3ppm (The tank is established, but has a new filter), pH 6.8, temp 76F, soft water.
Thanks for any advise.

I know ottos gets spots, but I have never owned any, so I can't say if we may be looking at that.
Look up on google to see if a methylene blue bath would be ok for ottos.
It will disinfect and stain the wound blue if it is dead cells or some bacteria or something other than healthy tissue.

The quicker one acts the better the chances of saving a fish. Also feed prima quality food in this period, even if it costs a bit more than what you normally feed.
And the most important. keep water clean and well oxygenated...
