One of my Zebra Danios (at least I think one...idk) keeps randomly side-smashing into things. Like...it'll dart down to a crypt leaf, do a body slam off of it, and then dart right back up. What in the world is this weird behavior?

Sounds like "flashing." Is it a slam or more of a scrape against type of thing? From what I've read, and I've seen my ZD's and Serpae tetra do it as well, it usually is something irritating the skin of the fish, i.e. a parasite. I wouldn't worry about it unless it does it a lot or starts to show other symptoms. FYI, mine don't do it anymore(that I know of). Best of luck to you and your fishies!

Eh....I'd describe it more as slamming. They'll touch it very briefly then jet up and go on about their normal business...no more than 1-2 touches at a time.

Yeah something is bothering them either parasite or water quality. Keep an eye on them.
