i use a ehiem classic 2215 (rated for 95 gallons) on my 75 gallon planted.
not too much flow. sometimes i wish i bought a 2217 (rated up to 160 gallon tanks), but i'm still happy with the 2215.

I just added a 2217 with the 2026 on my 55. If you want to minimize the blast out of the spray bar just open the holes a bit.

If you have this stuffed with wood then your already creating dead spots with one inflow and out flow.

If you go with a single filter get a big unit so you can split the in and out flow to two sides of the tank.

I had a 2215 on my 75gal planted and I loved it. I'd probably go with a 2217 or 2028 though if I was starting new.
