I have a planted 6 gallon nano. Currently I have 200+ red cherry shrimp in it. About once a week I am finding a dead shrimp. All other shrimp look normal and healthy. All of the shrimp I have found dead (5 so far starting in February) are almost full size but not fully mature. I have not found any dead freash hatches or fully mature shrimp.

Dead shrimp look physically OK no missing parts or damage .

Is this normal to have some die off with this many shrimp?

Water is
7.6 pH 0 ammonia 0 nitrate and 0 nitrite.

Make sure they are really dead. Milky eyed dead. They play possum when they molt and I threw 2 out before I realized they were just playing dead.:icon_cry:
but yeah if you have that many some are just going to die. Law of averages.

Ok will do a more thorough check. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't some kind of issue that would doom my whole colony. Thank you
