I am into my second week of EI dosing. In the past, I do an every other day water change (10%). 3x per week. I did notice some yellowish tint before. Since I am doing a big 50% water change only by the week ends, the yellow tint becomes a bit more pronounced. Should I worry about the yellow tint in the water column. I have total of 5 drift woods. They were all boiled before being placed in the tank over 2 months ago. The water do not smell. Everything is normal.

About over 2 months. I have 2 filters. One is a HOB with 2 bio wheels (Marineland Emperor 400). Another one is a canister filter attached to an inline CO2 reactor. No filter medias are used except Phoslock in the canister filter. 40g tank with over 40+ tetra fish. 24 Amano shrimps. Very, very heavily planted. I change the filter floss in the HOB filter once a week.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's a bit unsightly but it will eventually go away. I had 2 large pieces of driftwood I couldn't boil (plus other small ones I didn't bother to). I just soaked them a couple weeks till I couldn't bear the wait anymore.
It was quite tea coloured for the first couple months. It didn't fully clear up for probably 6 months with weekly 50% changes. Didn't seem to hurt anything except maybe the tank was a bit darker than I would have liked.

The thing that I am thinking about is the yellow. Is it yellow-green? It could be the start of an algae bloom.
High ammonia? 40+ fish in a 2 month old tank. That would be my concern. I doubt that the bacteria has had a chance to catch up with the bio load.

Not green. Just yellow tint. I am pretty sure the tank is well cycled. I have all these fish for more than a month. I even have couple of them "disappeared" and the water parameters are fine. No sick fish at the moment. All breathing very slowly. However, my tank is currently recovering from my previous nutrient deficiency which resulted in lost of many leaves (melted, rotted, and whatever). No fish or shrimps were affected by it. I can add purigen but not sure if that would improve anything (my plants recovery) other than my water would be more clearer.
Well, my nitrite and ammonia levels have always been 0. The bio wheels have been in operation since 7/26 (the wheels are all brown and smelly and turning slower now). Of course, the fish were slowly stocked up to the present. If anything, my Amano shrimps would be the first one to go if my tank isn't cycled. As of today, I have yet found a single dead shrimp. No sick fish so far since the beginning. Other than 1 neon tetra succumbed to ick last month, out off 40+ fish. Further ick didn't spread to other fish.

Your levels have been 0 from the start? How are they now before a water change?
Amanos are tougher then most folks think...
Did you start doing 50% water changes from the beginning? Your tank could still be cylcing....
What kind of lights do you have on the tank?
Yes, this could be cause from some tannins. Maybe the whole cause,...but... I doubt it.

Look, how does having my tank cycled or not would cause the yellow tint? Second, wet/dry method filtration is extremely affective and quick to colonize bacteria (I am talking about weeks and not months). Regardless, the tank has been in operation for over 2 months, with 40+ fish, and shrimps. And so much plants that I have no room to plant more. I am pretty sure my tank is well cycled. My water has always been crystal clear. It only got cloudy during the first couple of weeks.
