Laptops have come down in price a lot lately. You might be better off getting a new (or refurbished) one, with warranty and all, because a similar laptop 3 years ago might have costed twice or 3 times of what it costs today, and ppl that payed $1500 3 years ago might not want to let it go for $200 today.
So have a look around. Like here. Not new, but a great deal nonetheless.
There are regularly $400-500 brand new laptops, with less specs, available at major retailers.
Just a tip Ryan. I'd be very cautious when considering an used laptop. You have no idea what type of damage it's incurred. Laptop's are especially susceptible to being dropped, having water spilt on them etc.... also take into consideration that laptop's deteriorate at a much faster rate than desktops with all of the parts being so close to each other.
Your best option might be buying a refurbished model with a good warranty.
