Would this work as subtrate?

I am having a hard time getting Soilmaster and was wondering if this would work the same.

It's kiln fired clay, same thing as SMS. I would give it a shot if you can find a color you like.
Color would be my concern. from the looks its a single color product and that is a light tan. Much like Shultz. but aside from that it seems very similar
Ok, after rinsing off a ton of dust, I found it is a really cool red color. I put some of it in a ten gallon that I am setting up for shrimp and I'll see how it works out.

I've never heard of the stuff myself.

It would be nice if you could follow up at later time as to how this product works out for you.:thumbsup:
That stuff looks a lot like Turface Pro League, which also works great as an aquarium substrate.

OK, I finally got some pics. The one on the left is before I rinsed it, and the one on the right is after I rinsed it. I like the color, what do you guys/gals think?
