Would this canister work for a 10g?

Anyone have any experience with this?

I think it would be okay in a shrimp-only tank where there's not much need for removing tons of junk.

Though, I've only ever used that particular filter on tanks that are 5.5gal or smaller. Perfect on those tanks.

All I have are shrimp tanks. Do you think it would be okay with a high quality crystal tank?

So much junk will get stuck in the tubes.
Just place the canister lower than the tank, so extend the tubes, having it like it is will make restarting it a pain. Air will get in and get stuck easier as well.
Canister tube tops should be a few inches below the water line. Basically how they show it, but I have no idea what tank size that is.

But if it was me, I would get a regular canister, not a fancy mini..

Nothing gets stuck if you use a pre-filter, as Soothing Shrimp would do in a shrimp tank.

This filter will work fine, though I would highly recommend adding a double sponge filter somewhere in the tank, as well, powered by an air pump.

Oh, the tank would still have a double sponge. Once I find things that work, I get real hesitant about switching. LOL

If you want to be really budget, why not consider 2-3 double sponge filters instead of a canister?

My favorite shrimp tanks are the 20Ls I run with four doubles.

A canister definitely provides more room for media. Not a requirement, though.

A strong air pump and a few good sponges would work perfectly (and even provide nice flow) in a 10gal.

Great when I can relate this to my neo breeding! In fact for my neo tanks, I just drop some ceramic media directly on my substrate and it gets colonized beautifully.
