They're common detritus worms - nematodes - and are harmless. These worms typically show up in new setups and disappear relatively quickly.

How long has the tank been set up? If it's new, that's why they're there.

Ah thank you that’s good news! It’s been set up for a few months now. However I have recently got some new shrimp and a snail in there?

It's possible they rode in with some snail poo. But the most likely story is that they've been in the tank for a while, as the tank is fairly new, and only recently have the numbers to be noticeable.

But they really are harmless. As long as you don't overfeed and you keep up on weekly water changes, they'll begin to disappear. If you have fish? They'll disappear very quickly once they're discovered to be a tasty snack.
