Specs-

5.5 ( 16' long, 8" wide, 10" high)

Lighting: 1 x 10watt 6500k bulb at walmart in the pet section @ 13.5 hours a day.

substrate: 1" flourite over 1.5" of Tahitian moon sand.

Co2 none for now until i decide if it is needed.

Filtration: HOB filter for 10-15 gallon. Seeded with 1 year old sponge pre-filter from another tank. Waited till i had Ammonia at 0.25 ppm then i added it. By the next day the ammonia was gone and nitrates were present @ 5 ppm.

Greg Watson ferts. John N custom made me a dosing guideline which is-

KNO3 ( i will not be dosing this due to the tank will be over stocked and have shrimp & snails)

KH2P04 (Phosphate)
1.5 teaspoons in 250 ml water.
1 ml = 1 ppm of Phosphate

Suggested target range: 1-2 ppm
Suggested Dosage: 1-2 ml 3x a week

K2SO4 (Potassium)
10 teaspoons in 250 ml water.
1 ml = 5 ppm of Potassium

Suggested target range: 10-30 ppm
Suggested Dosage: 2 ml 3x a week

Plantex CSM+B (traces)
1 tablespoon to 250ml water.

Suggested Dosage: 1ml 3x a week

50% water change at the end of the week.

Time for pics of me setting it up.

I will take more pics of it tonight now that i planted it a couple of nights ago and added three guppies added.

Well sounds good :D It looks like it is going well so far :) But I just wanted to point out that you wrote you have 1' of flourite in your 5.5g tank, I hope you don't have 1 foot of flourite! If you meant to say 1 inch it is 1" ;)
