will this strip be able to run a t5 quality coralife bulb?

I didnt see anything about what type of bulb it runs, probabbly t8 bulbs. If you want an inexpensive t5 fixture, just hit home depot. The t5hos are where you will see a price jump. Its easy to get a fixture from home depot and just hang it from the ceiling with some hanging planter hooks.

Currently none of the plastic full hoods sold by the chains will run T5 tubes. They are all T8 and yes, still, T12.
You could, depending on the length, retrofit it to use T5 NO or HO tubes, but for the cost involved in purchasing a hood and the retro kit, you won't save much. Pick up something like the Hagen Glo HO strip.

I THINK I read on the actual manufacturors site about this one running t5? I really like it because of the lunar light thats built in. I cant stand not having a "nightlight" lol!

that fixture uses a power compact bulb. a 65 watt bulb to be more accurate. that won't work for a low tech tank.

For the cost, it's a good light.
But, it is T5NO which means 13 watt tubes or bulbs.
The tubes are very close together and the reflector is a strip of mylar.
