Will moss on mesh easily stay on the bed of the tank?

Wanting to moss carpet my nano but only have experience with attaching to wood, which is a breeze, I messaged a seller on ebay that's selling moss on mesh and was told it won't float because it's stainless steel mesh, is this true or will it just float straight up to the surface?

You can use plastic mesh from a crafts store for $1.
I cut the mesh down into strips to fit into tight spots. You can weigh it down with some stones I had to because my turtle kept lifting them up but not a problem anymore and it makes a nice carpet
