If you're having a lot of Algae issues I'd check your fertilizer routine, you may be deficient somewhere and that's what's causing it all.I'm having algae problems in my tank and I have 6 ottos and more than 15 alminos. 55G. I can't provide any pictures ATM because I just did a major cleaning that cleaned away most of the algae, but the problem is consistent and I'm sure it'll grow back. I'm in the process of buying more plants because my tank is kind of sparsely planted, so I think having more fast growing plants will help. I have pressurized CO2.
But, will a UV sterilizer help?

As for the sterilizer, it'll only cure GreenWater, bacteria, and parasites. It won't do a thing against bba/hair algae, ect.
