I live in Northeast Florida and I found this plant in my pond. I initially thought Naja (Guppy) Grass, but then I saw huge, rooted carpets of these that looked really cool. Any idea what it is?

I think you've got it right. (najas guadalupensis) That stuff grows every direction like crazy and can certainly grow in mats. One great thing about Florida is they have a ton of public info from the state and universities that help identify native and invasive plants
