LMFAO. 1k shrimp.. one of the most ridiculous prices i have ever seen..

heck. you could get a whole new setup. Or a 48" big screen TV
That is the worst thing I have ever seen. He better throw in a live arrival deal and how about a few extra in the bag, like, 1000 extra, haha.
Yeah, I think the seller is out of it... Even though it's new to the hobby, and perhaps you can breed these and sell them $10 a pop to make up for the cost and make some profit... I think it all come down to, is that a pretty/cool pet to have?.. It's cool but not as cool as a Crystal or a tiger. So, no, I won't spend $1K for shrimps.
The seller does have a DOA gaurantee, but it still is VERY pricey. Looking at his other auctions, I'm wondering if this is just a typo, since his other auctions seem reasonable prices.

You won't find any of these for $10 any time soon:icon_lol: .

These are the highest known grade of "CRS" at the moment as far as the past grading system has gone. The ones he seems to be selling are a poor example of that grade.

Ryan has got some and so does Pedro I believe. No idea how much they paid its not my buisnes but I sure hope it wasn't that high. The market is really soft in Japan and some people are trying to get them over here and make a huge profit, at one point it seemed someone many of you probably recognize was trying that, but he has stopped now from what he's said and is only breeding his own because it was hard to ensure top quality.

So no they're not cheap at all, go check out shrimpnow.com and look at some of them.:proud: People do pay money for quality shrimp thats for sure. The actual grade is SSS and that one pictured is probably a low SSS because of the transparencies but it was also probably bred for the golden crs status opposed to the white which was more sought after last I'd checked.

hehe, that is funny. who knows, maybe there is someone out there that does not know any better and will buy it.

They are not worth $1K, more like $150 each. They are beautiful shrimp, my favorite. If they were worth $1K then I would have a very expensive 10g tank :)

i dont know when I would ever have these for sale so I cannot even say what I would possibly sell them for. I must say though, they really are beautiful and unlike any shrimp you have seen before. Pictures do not do them justice. I wish I still had my macro lens because I would take some awesome pictures of them.

personally, I think all this advanced grading presumably for rarity is practical nonsense.
I'd much rather have a 4 band A or B grade, then some nearly all white SS in my tank.
I AM HAPPY WITH MY A-C GRADES, but i have neither the time nor the skill and patience to breed for a higher quality.

They are not the considered the highest grade of shrimp. They are not the hardest to get gene wise. They simply caused by another recessive trait. The highest grades of shrimp are the crystals that actually have a bit of red but are almost all white.
Just from my own experiences: I did manage to have 1 of the complete white offspring from two S+ parents CRS. They grow really slow but if you have enough patience, you will get one for sure in one of your generations - I guarantee. I have also heard the person who was selling that shrimp for that ridiculous price has been ripping people off in E-bay and other auctions for even just S grade shrimps. So just beware, that's all.

What has happened with these auctions that allegedly went "awry" ? I am curious because some people have asked me to "price match" this individual's sales...

ebay is an auction site, the price is only what people bid on them.???
Wow. At first I thought it was 1000 shrimp for 1000 dollars--cause you would buy in bulk. The seller is obviously looking to rip some unsuspecting shrimp enthusiast off.
If someone is into shrimp enough to drop 1g on 1 shrimp, they probably know better. I'm actually betting it was a typo.
does anyone have buy something from him (harlook) before?

*UPDATE*

This his new same auction... (I guess this is the second time he try to sell it)

It is not a typo. He is really asking for that price. In other shrimp forums, I have read 2 or more members have been ripped off by this seller. If you do not believe me, please ask him yourself and see what he say if it is a typo or not.
He has an ebay listing for the same shrimp or type of shrimp. Tell you what, for $1000 I would want it to cook me dinner and tuck me into bed at night. Possibly even earn an income.
