You won't find any of these for $10 any time soon:icon_lol: .Yeah, I think the seller is out of it... Even though it's new to the hobby, and perhaps you can breed these and sell them $10 a pop to make up for the cost and make some profit... I think it all come down to, is that a pretty/cool pet to have?.. It's cool but not as cool as a Crystal or a tiger. So, no, I won't spend $1K for shrimps.
They are not the considered the highest grade of shrimp. They are not the hardest to get gene wise. They simply caused by another recessive trait. The highest grades of shrimp are the crystals that actually have a bit of red but are almost all white. You won't find any of these for $10 any time soon:icon_lol: .
These are the highest known grade of "CRS" at the moment as far as the past grading system has gone. The ones he seems to be selling are a poor example of that grade.
Ryan has got some and so does Pedro I believe. No idea how much they paid its not my buisnes but I sure hope it wasn't that high. The market is really soft in Japan and some people are trying to get them over here and make a huge profit, at one point it seemed someone many of you probably recognize was trying that, but he has stopped now from what he's said and is only breeding his own because it was hard to ensure top quality.
So no they're not cheap at all, go check out shrimpnow.com and look at some of them.roud: People do pay money for quality shrimp thats for sure. The actual grade is SSS and that one pictured is probably a low SSS because of the transparencies but it was also probably bred for the golden crs status opposed to the white which was more sought after last I'd checked.

What has happened with these auctions that allegedly went "awry" ? I am curious because some people have asked me to "price match" this individual's sales...Just from my own experiences: I did manage to have 1 of the complete white offspring from two S+ parents CRS. They grow really slow but if you have enough patience, you will get one for sure in one of your generations - I guarantee. I have also heard the person who was selling that shrimp for that ridiculous price has been ripping people off in E-bay and other auctions for even just S grade shrimps. So just beware, that's all.
ebay is an auction site, the price is only what people bid on them.???Just from my own experiences: I did manage to have 1 of the complete white offspring from two S+ parents CRS. It is not a typo. He is really asking for that price. In other shrimp forums, I have read 2 or more members have been ripped off by this seller. If you do not believe me, please ask him yourself and see what he say if it is a typo or not.If someone is into shrimp enough to drop 1g on 1 shrimp, they probably know better. I'm actually betting it was a typo.
