Which substrate

OK so i searched and now am more confused. I have a 55 with a 3 inch layer of flourite and black gravel. My dad is setting up a 75 for plants. He has nothing so which substrate would you use. Trying to not go super $$$ but want the tank to look nice. Soil Master select? Sand with other soil mixed in? Flourite? Whats the benefits of each?

Well aquasoil is best but it can get pricey so I would do the sms. Aquasoil can be bought at http://www.adgshop.com/Aqua_Soil_s/21.htm

Go Aquasoil. It's a one time investment.

If you do things right, you won't be disappointed.
