I put a couple of small downoi in my planted 55g community tank, and they were both eaten up within a few days! If anything, my fish are overfed (both top and bottom feeders), so I don't think the issue is that someone was really hungry... I just think someone finds downoi delicious! Here's a list of tank occupants, who do you think might be the downoi eater?

fancy guppies
baby albino bristlenose
bolivian rams
yoyo & polkadot loaches
ghost shrimp
nerite & trumpet snails

I'd like to get some more downoi, and perhaps put them in a different tank, but since it's kind of expensive I want to make sure that I don't put the plant in with salad eaters again!

I'm gonna guess Bolivian Rams, mine and a couple angelfish destroyed some parrotsfeather I had. Complete guess though.

Yeah I think they were eaten, because there was no "melt", they just got progressively smaller and smaller over the course of a few days.

My guess would either be the loaches or the rams... but I never actually saw anything mess with the plants.

I definitely witnessed the destruction of my parrotsfeather

dont know how much you watch your tank but if you never noticed it then I'd suspect loaches since they are often more active when lights are out. some snails and shrimp eat some plants but I dunno if the ones you have do.
