Fissidens will attach to anything -- you can even grow it onto things via the dry start method by making a paste out of it and some plain yogurt and painting it on. I've not ever had problems with Christmas moss attaching to wood.
I had fissidens sprout up out of nowhere on some driftwood and is spreading along it on its own (this wood was never exposed to a tank with fissidens, and had even been bleach soaked and boiled before the fissidens appeared)
