I've just ordered a C02 system with an AquaMedic Reactor 1000.

I presently have an Eheim 2215 installed with the output split to an Phosban reactor and a UV filter. I've replaced the impeller of the 2215 with a 2217 impeller resulting in a noticeable increase of flow rate.

Where is the best place to insert the Reactor 1000 in the system?

On the intake side of the Eheim?

On the output side before the split or between the split and the UV?

Also, does running a UV "hurt" a planted tank?

I would run it on the output side, mainly because I wouldn't want any detritus accumulating in the reactor.

I don't think it matters whether you place it before or after the UV.

And as far as I know, running UV will not "hurt" a planted tank.

Thanks, that's where it will go. Equipment scheduled to arrive Monday.

My nephew works for Airgas and he can get the tank filled for his cost ~$6.00.
