Where to go from here?

For some quality entertainment , try adding some mystery snails. They are super active and fun to watch. I have two in a 5.5 gallon and I could sit here staring at them all day. Not sure price wise with your LFS, but I got mine for $3.99 each. Every other day I toss in an algae wafer and they go crazy over it. They also eat anything that falls to the bottom, such as excess flakes, and therefore aid in cleaning. They're available in countless colors and varieties. Hope this helps!

You could try scaping the tank, get some nice wood and rocks. The plants look nice and healthy, just kinda randomly scattered about.
