Update: We purchased corries that were labled corydoras hastatus, although they look more like Corydoras habrosus, From Fish Planet in Deerfield. They are great little fish and my son is thrilled with them. Thank you everyone for the suggestions!
I have visited or called over a dozen stores and none of them have Pygmy, Salt & Pepper or any other small (around 1") variety of Cory. I didn't realize these would be so difficult to find. Does anyone know of a local location that carries any? I'm in the Aurora/Naperville area, but at this point I'd be willing to drive anywhere in the Chicago land area.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely be giving them a call. If any one knows of anywhere else please let me know. The corries are for my son, he has worked hard to earn money for, and setup his 10 gallon with 5 neons in it. When designing his tank he planned for the addition of corries and specifically picked a sand substrate to accommodate their sensitive barbels. I put a "gift certificate" (just printed off my computer) for corries in his Easter Basket, thinking that they wouldn't be hard to find. He was so excited to receive them, and has been very disappointed not to be able to find them.

Thank You

I called Fish planet yesterday and they do have corydoras hastatus and pygmys! Now I've just gotta figure out when I can get out to Deerfield to get them. Thank you so much to everyone for all of your help.

Just make a day of it, bring the family down to the Botanic Gardens or Kohls Childrens Museum (if your kid is under 10), both are a 10 min ride from Fish Planet. Hit Fish Planet on the way home.

That's the plan. We actually have Friends in Deerfield who we'll visit on Sunday morning, then head to Fish Planet in the afternoon. I called Fish Planet and they told me that they'd make sure there were still at least 4 Corydoras hastatus when we get there.:)

Since we've already gotten what we were looking for, I was Asking about Aquarium Adventure just for future reference.
