thats what i was thinking not thic at all i wanna do a fdiy filter buy blocking off like 4 inches of my tank on the side to put a power head and some media in it. so i just need a piece of plastic

Try tapplastics.com. They will also cut it to whatever size pieces you need. I recently built a 43gal DIY tank from acrylic parts ordered from them. All parts fit perfectly. I plan to start a journal for this tank soon.

If you are trying to do an all-in-one tank I would recommend glass instead, unless of course the tank itself is acrylic.

The bond between glass/silicone is much stronger than will form between silicone/acrylic.

Alot of places will cut a piece to size for you for a nominal fee. Check your yellow pages for a custom glass and window place.
