I recently received an American Marine Pinpoint pH unit as a hand-me-down. The two probes that came with it had been sitting with caps that were dry and now don't seem to be working, because I can't get a pH reading below 10.5 from the 7.01 calibration fluid or the stuff that comes out of my tap. Do I need to buy the American Marine replacement part at the ripoff of $50 for which it is advertised on marinedepot or is there an alternative?

Do a search for my recent posts. I believe most replacement probes will work.

You can buy probes from Omega Engineering. pH probes have a standard connection so any one will work.
