It depends on what type of calcium you're talking about and level of purity. You can get food grade CaSO4, gypsum at a Chinese grocery store. It's used to make tofu. You can buy industrial grade gypsum at the hardware store and maybe at the art store.

You can use gypsum or pure chalk. If unsure, it goes for something like $5 a pound for calcium nitrate at aquariumfertilizers.com.

Unless you grind it into powder first, it's kinda hard to accurately dose.

I was thinking about using it as a fert, but I've since realized with regular water changes there should be enough Ca in tap water already.
