Where can I buy a 5 lb. Co2 tank

Do any of the N. California people here (Sacramento, Fairfield area) know where one can buy a 5 lb. Co2 tank? I just purchased a Aquarium Plants electronic controller and regulator.

Also what is the best way to deliver the Co2 to the water in my 55g aquarium?

have you checked craigslist for the tank?

as for how to get co2 into the tank. some people use inline reactors with their canister filter, other people use a co2 diffusor thats in the tank

No but the difference between new and used is not that much so I will go with new, but thanks for the idea.

I was looking for specific products to evaluate on the delivery part. Some suggestions there?

ebay. New. Still wayyyyy cheaper. ALl of my local fillers exchange tanks, so it doesn't matter if it is new and shiny.

I live in Fairfield, but I exchange tanks at MoreBeer in Concord. 35 minute drive (no traffic).

I just got mine from a welding supply store. They also do the tank exchange.

Airgas in Roseville should be able to hook you up. There may be a location closer to you.

There's usually varying sizes on Craigslist as well. If your bartering skills are good you can do well there.

A 5 lb tank is standard off the shelf stock for Fire Extinguisher places, which is where you'd get it refilled anyway.

Couldn't find one used for less than $75 or so after shipping was added but found one here a little cheaper than the place you suggested.

aquariumplans.com has low prices on aluminum tanks (either empty or full). They ship to your door. I just bought a full 10lbs aluminum tank and shipping via UPS was $5 (flate rate).

How do you know if the tank is full? Should it weigh 5 lbs. more full than empty?

Purchased my 5lb aluminum tank new from aquariumplants.com about five years ago. They had the best prices and lowest shipping costs at the time.

A 5lb tank HOLDS 5lbs of co2, so the tank will weigh well over 5lbs full.
