(Can't believe this Q isn't answered somewhere in this forum, but my searches don't pull it up.)

I have two two T-5, 54W, High Output bulbs (one 6700 K, the other a Coralife "Colormax") on my 90-gallon planted discus tank. They've been there for a year. I can't perceive any difference, but I'm told they should be replaced. Some guy in my LFS says after 6 months, another source says 18 months.

Any guidance from the pros on this forum?

I was just wondering the same thing myself, and after searching around, it looks like the consensus is 12 months, particularly on reef forums. I'm curious to see what people on this forum say.

I believe several people with more experience than I, have concluded that for best high light plants, 12 months for T5HO and for moderate light plants 24 months should do.

With over two million posts, the search feature is a pain.
I use Google, Advanced, and limit the search to plantedtank.net. You can filter the search terms.
