ok i am setting up my planted tank for the first time and I am wondering at what point do i add the plants? I am familiar with fish tanks fw & sw but i have never done planted. i filled my tank about a week ago and it now has ammonia and nitrates and nitrites. When do i start adding plants to it?

You can add them now. The plants will help cycle the tank and they don't mind the ammonia.

You can add the plants the day you set up the aquarium, in fact, it helps the tank cycle so it's probably best to! :biggrin:

this grow em emmersed for a few days/week (if you have the time) then fill it up so they have good rooting and will grow quick making it a short cycle
