The updated lights on the spec series are pretty darn good. I think I could grow anything in it.

I had a good buddy from Alachua I met on fish lore. He hooked me up with plants. He vanished. If you know where im at ....obviously its rural. I always have p.helferi, s.minima, j.moss, and mts. Most get pitched.

I do need a ton of MTS to seed the above pictured tank with them. I used to have hundreds upon hundreds in my 55 but I exterminated them with a band of Assassin Snails.
I have:
-baby Tiger Lotus (x2)
-Wisteria (I will have a truly unreasonable amount of this stuff a month from now)
-Blyxa japonica
-Rosette Swords
-Duckweed (if for some reason somebody actually wanted this wretched stuff)
-Assassin Snails

I thought duckweed would be cool in my tank, boy was I wrong. I have to clean the surface every other day, and everytime I stick my arm in the tank, I'm picking duckweed off my arms for 2 days. Lol

I made a mistake by putting my minima and frogbit in with my duckweed, and the duckweed over crowded it and it all died off...

I thought I saw some minima on lake Dexter the other day. I think I might of saw hairgrass as well. I even collected some jungle Val as well.

I kept reef tanks for the past 5 years. An unfortunate incident with lightning hitting my house killed everything. Since the wife and I have a newborn I had to go for a cheaper setup this time around, and decided I always liked the look of planted freshwater tanks. Figured it couldn't be that different from coral. I have a 40 breeder set up that's doing mostly good. The things that aren't is more of a learning curve issue, so it's improving. I'll try to find a couple pictures somewhere. It even has ugly red rocks that I hate and my wife loves. Life is about finding balance, I am told. lmao
