Dear Collective TPT wisdom,

What is this white powdery stuff that keeps appearing on the leaves of the floating salvinia in most of my tanks?
I'm guessing its the eggs of some non-aquatic insect of some sort that has landed on the leaves, but can't think what.
Any ideas please?

When I kept Salvinia and some of the leaves would die they would also get a white powdery look to it on top and then shrivel from the outward in. I don’t know what it is but it happened to me when fertilizer got really low or it had been getting water on top too much

Mold. It happens, you can typically just soak it in water and it'll fade.
