I just planted this ludwigia yesterday and after i saw it under the glare of my lighting system i noticed that most of the leaves had this white crust-looking thing on top of them, what is it?

then if thats the case, id lean towards brown diatoms (this same thing happened when I tore down my 36 gallon tank about a month ago)...if it rubs off the leaves and is a bit brown in colour, then thats what it is....are you fertilizing, co2? water parameters etc....those would help.....for me...I upped my CO2 injection, continued to fertilize....made sure my lightning wasnt too high (see the lightning thread) and then added some ottos and it was gone within 2 weeks

thanks for the help

no co2 or ferts yet, ferts are shipping and i'll be making a diy co2 once i get some time and the materials. As long as it's not harmful to my tank i'm not overly concerned
