Water changes are known to Encourange a molt. Premature molts can happen when doing water changes with too cold of water and/or waterchanges that cause a swing in parameters.

No changes in water parameters. She dropped six babies, that I can see, and molted with eggs still attached. Have 2 more berried PRL in the same water as her.

This has also confused me as well for a long time. Even further I do not understand how the mother is able to hang onto any of her eggs after the molt...

Feeding protein, warm temperatures, water changes, breeding liquid.

They all can cause an immature molt.

Also with Taiwan bees, they will sometimes abandon eggs that are taking too long to hatch.

well its a good thing she lived, one of my blue velvets couldn't molt correctly because the berries were stuck to her. and she ended up dying even though I tried to assist her with getting some of the molt off.
