It looks like a small ramshorn to me. I have an unidentified species (that looks very similar to your pic) in my tank as well. They are breeding like crazy. I don't, however, see any damage to my plants as a result of their presence.
Personally I would get rid of them while you have the chance. I have them in my tank and my filter too. They are quite the pesky breeders. Like BiscuitSlayer said no harm done to the plants and they do eat algae and dead plantssame with me too they are breading like crazy in my plant i just got. I still have the plant in a container and im trying to decide if i want the snails or not
Thats why I went the dwarf puffer route. I think that the DP is a cool little fish, and I am hoping that he will eat the baby snails and keep the population somewhat in check. I don't want to totally erradicate the snails though as I think that they are actually providing a benefit by eating some of the algae and they are cool to look at.Personally I would get rid of them while you have the chance.
