I'm setting up a planted tank and will be buying plants online. I want to set the tank up next weekend and I'm trying to time it so that the plants get delivered Thursday or Friday. What do I do with the plants until I'm ready to set up the tank which could be 1-2 days? Can I just put them in a bucket of declorinated water? Do I need to add a heater? Thanks.

You can keep them in a bucket of water just fine. In fact, for long term, if you add a light on top of that bucket and they can live in there for a long time!

No heater needed, just don't put the bucket right in front of the air conditioner.
