I am starting to get more and more aquariums and it takes up a lot of space. I am thinking about getting a rack to put all my aquariums on. I don't any experience in woodworking or carpentry so I don't trust myself with tools that could cut me in half. What racks do you use that you could buy in stores? How much weight could you use on them? For example, if a rack is rated 1000lbs, is it safe to put 1000lbs of stuff on it?

I would look in your area for an experienced carpenter/builder and see if they would take on such a job and then give you a price. Then you can ask for the exact kind of racks you want. May cost a bit more than premade stuff, but I doubt it and you will get what you want. If not then yes a rack rated for 1k pounds will hold at least that, but the thing is what the shelves are made of, how the weight is distributed, width/center of gravity, and weight per shelf. Only you know what size tanks you have and how you want it setup.
