What plant is this? Is it poisonous?

Hi everyone, I am new to the aquarium world and bought a weed looking plant from my local pet store. I’m thinking about removing it, not only because it grows way too fast and looks a bit ugly, but because no google search can help me identify it and I don’t want to inadvertently harm my betta with a poisonous plant. Can anyone help?

I would try and go back to the store and find out. But in the end it's your tank. I take things out when I don't like them too.

also, you can do a search online for betta compatible plants. From there you should be able to find plants that are good or not good for them. I would cross reference at least a couple sites if you can.
Maybe a Hygrophila, like H. corymbosa? Not gonna be poisonous to fish, like the majority of aquatic plants.

Yep. Looks like Hygrophila to me too. H. Guanensis or H. Corymbosa. Both are quite common.
