bought some test shirmp for a new tank from my LFS labeled 'ghost shirmp,' but i'm having second thoughts. they don't have those orange markings that are often associated with ghost shrimp.

to be honest, i really just want to know if these are baby macro sp. shrimp. i'm assuming not because four of the six i bought today are berried, but i just don't want the eggs to hatch and then i'm suddenly in over my head with aggressive shrimp in a tank meant for peaceful ones.

you wont have to worry about babies. judging by the berried shrimp they are a low order breeder and the babies will be larva and need salt water to breed. they probably wont make it in fresh water.
Most ghost shrimp require some salinity to hatch and then they go through a larval stage and if nothing eats them they'll need access to a lot of infusoria... I wouldn't worry about it

excellent, thank you. you guys have totally put my mind at ease.
