I find circle works best maneuvering a planted tank. Square of varying sizes are sometimes necessary for capturing the elusive. The triangle seems more like a novelty that doesn't have any benefit over the other two and usually is the net that gets the least use in my arsenal.

eva, you must try the circle nets. you dont know what youre missing :O

I think its worth noting the there are two kinds of triangle nets. One with the handle mounted to one of the corners and the other mounted onto one of the sides of the triangle. So one has the added advantage of a triangle edge at the tip, offering an advantage in corner netting, while the other offers a straight edge at the tip which acts more like square/rectangle net offering nominal benefit.

I have a circle and a square. I find the square is easier to pin shrimp to the side of the glass with. But the Again I'm afriad the circle net will bend too much, it's the SS extendable one. Whereas the square is $1 brine shrimp net

I agree, the triangle nets i've used were actually ridiculously difficult to capture a shrimp in. You'd think it would be easier to corner a shrimp, but they shrimp just jumps out the top of the net.

I never corner shrimp though, I always allow them to jump back into the net by touching them gently on their tail with the net rim. Takes a while to master this method, but works every time for me now.
