What is too cold for CRS?

I have two shrimp tanks a Mini-M in my office and an eclipse 12. Both have ADA AS I and both are ow tech setups. The Mini-m has more plants in it because it is in my office and I try to keep it looking nice.

The main reason for this question is that both tanks are similar as far as parameters what foods they get and lighting schedules. My office tank is whatever my office is at temp wise, I would have to say no lower than 72 and no higher than 78. My home tank is in the basement and is always around 69-70 deg.

The shrimp in my office tank (higher temp) breed prolifically and their white coloration is stunningly bright and full. At home they are more lack luster and don't breed hardly at all.

Very confusing. Maybe I need to freshen up the AS in my home tank as it is older then the soil at work but bother are over 2 years old approx.

What do you think?

Whats the ph in your home tank? This past summer I got busy an kind of ignored my CRS. I didnt change the water often, ph drifted up along with the temps(low 80's) I noticed the shrimp had stopped breeding, Once I got back doing regular water changes and watching the temps they started breeding like rabbits!
I would maybe try warming your tank 2 degrees or so.
My crs and rcs are both in the same tank with no heater. At night time I have seen it hit 64f. I think I need a mini heater. My crs are not at breeding age so I can't say breeding has improved/gone down

I really never check ph on my tanks but might aswell. TDS is right at 80 ppm and I use the same RO water as I do in my work tank same foods and everything. I'll check when I get home and report.

I'm sure it gets pretty cold down there, just not sure how cold.
Regarding temperatures, you don't want them to swing as much. You probably want to keep it above 65 degrees if you can. I say add a heater and make sure its set to 65.

If your plants are still growing in the aquasoil, why redo the tank? Freshen the top if you have any extra stuff if you want to keep it looking nice.

I would'nt change the aquasoil. I would say its the low temp, since you use RO water.
