I'm having the same problem right now with my hc emerge grow. I tried to remove it all and drained the level of water real low and give it more air. Of course I have to mist it more often. I hope mine grow back to normal like the last couple of days and I hope you can find a solution too and help me also.

It looks like a type of hair algea, but I guess dry air ventilation across tank top might minimize it IF it is a fungus.

Let tank dry off a bit instead of adding water daily, to simulate "real-life" emersed conditions from a drying "winter-season" riverbed, you might also want to reduce photoperiod.

Peroxide swabbing might help also:thumbsup:

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks, I'm doing 8 hours a day with 2x24watt cfl. I saran wrap my tank so not too much water leaves the tank. I should probably leave the saran wrap off a day to let water evaporate.

It's fungus. Easiest way to get rid of it is flooding the tank.

Just curious why you decided to throw your Rotala in there during the dry start? Is that really Rotala? The leaves look big for Rotala species.

After flooding the tank for a day would that kill the fungus and can you drain it for dsm again?

I removed the dead L. Repens and the AS around it and sprayed 1:4 H2O2.

I also removed my rotala and L. repens and put it into a bucket until I flood the tank. Hopefully that this fungus thingy don't come back.
I tried to removed all of it but I douted so I'm letting dry for 2 days with lots of misting. Let's see if it go away (crossing my fingers)!
