I am going to be starting to plant very shortly and I wanted to know what is the best depth I am should for with my substrate?

Also is there such a thing as too much?

I decided i am going to use just Safe-T-Sorb for substrate, this should be fine correct?!

I will be housing
rams
oto cats
rcs
school of rnt
